Varalakshmi Vratham Ashtothram Overview

Varalakshmi vratham, sometimes called Varalakshmi Pooja and Varalakshmi Nombu, is a significant Hindu festival commemorating Goddess Lakshmi. The Varalakshmi vratham or fast is mostly followed by married women to get blessings from Varalakshmi, a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi. The second Friday of the month of Sravanam (which corresponds to the Gregorian months of July–August) has great significance.

It is an auspicious day for married women who observe fast and pray to Goddess Lakshmi for the well-being of family members. It is believed that the Goddess of wealth and prosperity showers blessings on the devotees who keep fast on the day.

Lakshmi is considered to be the goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. Ashtottara Shatanamavali of Goddess Lakshmi: 108 names of Goddess Lakshmi with the mantra. She is often depicted as a woman riding an owl with a showering of gold flowing around them. Everyone has to make it through tough times and as you do, remember that the owl stands for keeping yourself focused and productive, even in the dark.

Especially if Lakshmi is worshiped on Shravan Friday, it is very great. It is said that by this, Lakshmi will settle in the house, become financially strong, Ashtaishwarya will settle. But Lakshmi is fickle and cannot stand still. It is said that she settles down in search of places, houses and persons who worship her with pure devotion, mind.
