Tulasi Pooja Vidhanam Overview

Lord Vishnu, who sleeps for mockery of the world on Sayanee Ekadashi in Ashadha, wakes up on Kartika Shuddha Dwadashi – Prabhodhani, so it is called Uththana Dwadashi. It is customary to do this vrata with Tulasi as a propitiation to Dhatri Lakshminarayan.

If there is an advantage, a Tulsi sapling should be placed in front of the Dhatri tree and worshiped. Otherwise Tulsi should be placed near Vrindavan / a branch of Dhatri tree with an idol of Lord Krishna and/or Saligrams in front of it. Paint the Tulsi wood, put Rangoli and decorate it.

Mantra recited to Tulsi while doing parikrama:

• ಯಾನಿಕಾನಿಚಾ ಪಾಪನಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಹತ್ಯ ಅದಿಕಾನಿಚಾ ತಾತ್ಸರ್ವಂ ವಿಲಾಯಂ ಯತಿ ತುಳಸಿ ತ್ವತ್ ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿನಾಥ್.”
• ತುಳಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಂ ಮಂತ್ರ “ಮಹಾಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಜನನಿ ಸರ್ವಸೌಭವ್ಯ ವರ್ಧಿನಿ ಅಧಿವಾಧಿ ಹರೀ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ತುಳಸಿ ತ್ವಾಮ್ ಸಮೋಸ್ತುತೇ.”
• ತುಳಸಿ ದಳವನ್ನು ಕೀಳುವಾಗ ಅಥವಾ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವಾಗ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಂತ್ರ. ” ಕೃಷ್ಣ ವಾಸುದೇವಾಯ ದೇವಕಿ ನಂದನಾಯಚ ನಂದಗೋಪ್ ಕುಮಾರಾಯ ಗೋವಿಂದಾಯ ನಮೋ ನಮಃ.”

Puja Vidhi:

Tulsi pooja should be done after deva pooja. While making an offering, one should make an offering to God, make an offering to Mahalakshmi, make an offering to Pranadev and then make an offering to Tulsi. Yathashakti dish, Bhojya should be prepared and offered. In dhatri kai (gooseberries)- Five, seven, nine gooseberries should be lit with ghee lamp and Aarti should be done in the morning and evening.

Symbolizing power and sanctity, Goddess Tulsi is the mother who brings prosperity to the home. The day this mother married Lord Vishnu is celebrated as Tulsi Ayana. As a symbol of that auspicious day, devotees celebrate Tulsi marriage festival with utmost devotion every year. This festival is called Tulsi Ayana, Tulsi festival or Tulsi marriage, Tulsi marriage.
