Shri Ganesh Chalisa Overview

ਜਯ ਗਣਪਤਿ ਸਦ੍ਗੁਣਸਦਨ ਕਵਿਵਰ ਬਦਨ ਕ੍ਰੁਪਾਲ ।
ਵਿਘ੍ਨ ਹਰਣ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਰਣ ਜਯ ਜਯ ਗਿਰਿਜਾਲਾਲ ॥

ਜਯ ਜਯ ਜਯ ਗਣਪਤਿ ਰਾਜੂ ।
ਮੰਗਲ ਭਰਣ ਕਰਣ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਾਜੂ ॥

ਜਯ ਗਜਬਦਨ ਸਦਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ।
ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵ ਵਿਨਾਯਕ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ॥

ਵਕ੍ਰ ਤੁਣ੍ਡ ਸ਼ੁਚਿ ਸ਼ੁਣ੍ਡ ਸੁਹਾਵਨ ।
ਤਿਲਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਣ੍ਡ ਭਾਲ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਨ ॥

ਰਾਜਿਤ ਮਣਿ ਮੁਕ੍ਤਨ ਉਰ ਮਾਲਾ ।
ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਣ ਮੁਕੁਟ ਸ਼ਿਰ ਨਯਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਾ ॥

ਪੁਸ੍ਤਕ ਪਾਣਿ ਕੁਠਾਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲੰ ।
ਮੋਦਕ ਭੋਗ ਸੁਗਨ੍ਧਿਤ ਫੂਲੰ ॥

ਸੁਨ੍ਦਰ ਪੀਤਾਮ੍ਬਰ ਤਨ ਸਾਜਿਤ ।
ਚਰਣ ਪਾਦੁਕਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਜਿਤ ॥

ਧਨਿ ਸ਼ਿਵਸੁਵਨ ਸ਼਼ਡਾਨਨ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ।
ਗੌਰੀ ਲਲਨ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵ-ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ॥

ਰੁੱਧਿ ਸਿੱਧਿ ਤਵ ਚੰਵਰ ਸੁਧਾਰੇ ।
ਮੂਸ਼਼ਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਸੋਹਤ ਦ੍ਵਾਰੇ ॥

ਕਹੌਂ ਜਨ੍ਮ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਥਾ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ।
ਅਤਿ ਸ਼ੁਚਿ ਪਾਵਨ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਾਰੀ ॥

ਏਕ ਸਮਯ ਗਿਰਿਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ।
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਹੇਤੁ ਤਪ ਕੀਨ੍ਹਾ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

ਭਯੋ ਯਜ੍ਞ ਜਬ ਪੂਰ੍ਣ ਅਨੂਪਾ ।
ਤਬ ਪਹੁੰਚ੍ਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਧਰਿ ਦ੍ਵਿਜ ਰੂਪਾ ॥

ਅਤਿਥਿ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਗੌਰੀ ਸੁਖਾਰੀ ।
ਬਹੁ ਵਿਧਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਤੁਮ ਵਰ ਦੀਨ੍ਹਾ ।
ਮਾਤੁ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਹਿਤ ਜੋ ਤਪ ਕੀਨ੍ਹਾ ॥

ਮਿਲਹਿ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਤੁਹਿ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਾ ।
ਬਿਨਾ ਗਰ੍ਭ ਧਾਰਣ ਯਹਿ ਕਾਲਾ ॥

ਗਣਨਾਯਕ ਗੁਣ ਜ੍ਞਾਨ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ।
ਪੂਜਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਰੂਪ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ ॥

ਅਸ ਕਹਿ ਅਨ੍ਤਰ੍ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਰੂਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ।
ਪਲਨਾ ਪਰ ਬਾਲਕ ਸ੍ਵਰੂਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ॥

ਬਨਿ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੁ ਰੁਦਨ ਜਬਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਠਾਨਾ ।
ਲਖਿ ਮੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਨਹਿੰ ਗੌਰਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥

ਸਕਲ ਮਗਨ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹਿੰ ।
ਨਭ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਨ ਸੁਮਨ ਵਰ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਵਹਿੰ ॥

ਸ਼ਮ੍ਭੁ ਉਮਾ ਬਹੁਦਾਨ ਲੁਟਾਵਹਿੰ ।
ਸੁਰ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੁਤ ਦੇਖਨ ਆਵਹਿੰ ॥

ਲਖਿ ਅਤਿ ਆਨਨ੍ਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਾਜਾ ।
ਦੇਖਨ ਭੀ ਆਯੇ ਸ਼ਨਿ ਰਾਜਾ ॥

ਨਿਜ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਗੁਨਿ ਸ਼ਨਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀਂ ।
ਬਾਲਕ ਦੇਖਨ ਚਾਹਤ ਨਾਹੀਂ ॥

ਗਿਰਜਾ ਕਛੁ ਮਨ ਭੇਦ ਬਢ਼ਾਯੋ ।
ਉਤ੍ਸਵ ਮੋਰ ਨ ਸ਼ਨਿ ਤੁਹਿ ਭਾਯੋ ॥

ਕਹਨ ਲਗੇ ਸ਼ਨਿ ਮਨ ਸਕੁਚਾਈ ।
ਕਾ ਕਰਿਹੌ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥

ਨਹਿੰ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਾਸ ਉਮਾ ਕਰ ਭਯਊ ।
ਸ਼ਨਿ ਸੋਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਹ੍ਯਊ ॥

ਪੜਤਹਿੰ ਸ਼ਨਿ ਦ੍ਰੁਗ ਕੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਾ ।
ਬਾਲਕ ਸ਼ਿਰ ਇੜਿ ਗਯੋ ਆਕਾਸ਼ਾ ॥

ਗਿਰਜਾ ਗਿਰੀਂ ਵਿਕਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਧਰਣੀ ।
ਸੋ ਦੁਖ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਗਯੋ ਨਹਿੰ ਵਰਣੀ ॥

ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ ਮਚ੍ਯੋ ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ਾ ।
ਸ਼ਨਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਯੋਂ ਲਖਿ ਸੁਤ ਕੋ ਨਾਸ਼ਾ ॥

ਤੁਰਤ ਗਰੁੜ ਚਢ਼ਿ ਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਣੁ ਸਿਧਾਯੇ ।
ਕਾਟਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਸੋ ਗਜ ਸ਼ਿਰ ਲਾਯੇ ॥

ਬਾਲਕ ਕੇ ਧੜ ਊਪਰ ਧਾਰਯੋ ।
ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪਢ਼ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਡਾਰਯੋ ॥

ਨਾਮ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਮ੍ਭੁ ਤਬ ਕੀਨ੍ਹੇ ।
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਪੂਜ੍ਯ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਵਰ ਦੀਨ੍ਹੇ ॥

ਬੁੱਧਿ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼ਾ ਜਬ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੀਨ੍ਹਾ ।
ਪ੍ਰੁਥ੍ਵੀ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਕ੍ਸ਼ਿਣਾ ਲੀਨ੍ਹਾ ॥

ਚਲੇ ਸ਼਼ਡਾਨਨ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ।
ਰਚੀ ਬੈਠ ਤੁਮ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਉਪਾਈ ॥

ਚਰਣ ਮਾਤੁ-ਪਿਤੁ ਕੇ ਧਰ ਲੀਨ੍ਹੇਂ ।
ਤਿਨਕੇ ਸਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਕ੍ਸ਼ਿਣ ਕੀਨ੍ਹੇਂ ॥

ਧਨਿ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਕਹਿ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਹਿਯ ਹਰਸ਼਼ੇ ।
ਨਭ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਨ ਸੁਮਨ ਬਹੁ ਬਰਸੇ ॥

ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਬੜਾਈ ।
ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ ਸਹਸ ਮੁਖ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਗਾਈ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਮਤਿ ਹੀਨ ਮਲੀਨ ਦੁਖਾਰੀ ।
ਕਰਹੁੰ ਕੌਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਵਿਨਯ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥

ਭਜਤ ਰਾਮਸੁਨ੍ਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਦਾਸਾ ।
ਲਖ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ ਕਕਰਾ ਦੁਰ੍ਵਾਸਾ ॥

ਅਬ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਯਾ ਦੀਨ ਪਰ ਕੀਜੈ ।
ਅਪਨੀ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਤਿ ਭਕ੍ਤਿ ਕੁਛ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
