PFI Ban Notification Overview
The Government of India has banned the Popular Front of India (PFI). In the gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that while declaring PFI as an unlawful organization, it has been banned for five years. In the gazette notification issued by the Union Home Minister, it has been said that in view of the subversive activities of the PFI, the government has exercised the powers obtained under Section 1 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 i.e. Section 3 of the UAPA in the interest of the country.
Central Government declares PFI (Popular Front of India) and its associates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association with immediate effect, for a period of five years. The organization has been banned under the UAPA Act. Please tell that PFI is a fundamentalist organization. In 2017, the NIA wrote a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs demanding a ban on this organization. The NIA investigation had come to the fore about the organization allegedly indulging in violent and terrorist activities. According to the NIA dossier, this organization was considered a threat to national security.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh has tweeted after the five-year ban on PFI. He wrote in his tweet that bye-bye PFI. Apart from this, he has also shared the copy of the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The relevant section and subsection states that if the government finds evidence of involvement in anti-national or terrorist activities against any person, institution or any other entity, it may impose sanctions on that person, institution or other entity.
