Maa Kalratri Aarti Overview
As you must be aware, Goddess Kalratri is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri. The form of Mata Kalratri is considered to be a fierce form of Mother Goddess. As such, this form of Mata Rani is fierce and terrible to see.
But she will always remain benevolent and kind to her devotees. If you also want to receive the blessings of Mother Kalratri, then on the seventh day of Navratri, you must worship the mother properly and you must recite the Katha and Aarti of Mother Kalratri. In Hindu religious texts, Mata Kalratri is said to be the goddess who destroys all enemies.
Different mothers are worshiped every day in Navratri. On the first day of Navratri, Shailputri Mata is worshipped and on the second day Brahmacharini Mata is worshipped. On the third day of Navratri, Chandraghanta Mata is dedicated. Maa Kushmanda Devi is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri. On the fifth day of Navratri, Skandamata is meditated and chanted along with her.
Goddess Katyayani is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri. On the seventh day of Navratri, one must worship Kalratri Mata duly and also sing the Katha and Aarti of Kalratri Mata. On the eighth day of Navratri, Mahagauri Mata should be worshiped with complete rituals. Siddhidatri Mata ji is worshiped on the ninth or last day of Navratri.
माँ कालरात्रि की आरती
कालरात्रि जय-जय-महाकाली।
काल के मुह से बचाने वाली॥
दुष्ट संघारक नाम तुम्हारा।
महाचंडी तेरा अवतार॥
पृथ्वी और आकाश पे सारा।
महाकाली है तेरा पसारा॥
खडग खप्पर रखने वाली।
दुष्टों का लहू चखने वाली॥
कलकत्ता स्थान तुम्हारा।
सब जगह देखूं तेरा नजारा॥
सभी देवता सब नर-नारी।
गावें स्तुति सभी तुम्हारी॥
रक्तदंता और अन्नपूर्णा।
कृपा करे तो कोई भी दुःख ना॥
ना कोई चिंता रहे बीमारी।
ना कोई गम ना संकट भारी॥
उस पर कभी कष्ट ना आवें।
महाकाली माँ जिसे बचाबे॥
तू भी भक्त प्रेम से कह।
कालरात्रि माँ तेरी जय॥
Kalratri Mata Katha:
- According to the legend, when Raktabeej defeated all the gods and snatched their kingdom, then all the gods went to Mahadev ji after complaining about the demons. Lord Shiva Shankar asked all the deities who came to him the reason for their coming. Then the deity narrated the atrocities committed by Raktabeej to Trilokinath.
- Hearing this, Lord Shiva Shankar requested Mata Parvati that, O Goddess, you should immediately kill that demon and give back their royal pleasure to the gods. Then Goddess Parvati meditated there. Kalratri was born due to the brilliance of Mother’s sadhana.
- When Maa Durga was killing Raktabeej, hundreds of demons were born from the blood of Raktabeej that fell on the earth. Then Maa Durga requested Kalratri to eat those demons.
- Then Mother Kalika started taking Raktabeej blood in her mouth even before it fell on the ground. In this way, Mother Kalika started wearing a garland of shavings around her neck, cutting the throats of Asuras in the battlefield. In this way Raktabeej was killed in battle. This form of Maa Durga is called Kalratri.
