Sister said- “Brother! The moon has not come out yet, when it comes out, I will eat food by offering arghya.” On this the brothers went out of the city and lit the fire and taking a sieve, showing the light from it, said to the sister- “Sister! The moon has come out. Offer food and eat it.”
The sister also called her sisters-in-law to offer Arghya to the moon, but they knew the actions of their husbands.
He said- “Baiji! The moon hasn’t come out yet. Your brothers are cunningly showing the light of fire through a sieve.
But the sister did not pay attention to the words of the sisters-in-law and ate food by offering arghya to the light shown by the brothers. Thus breaking the fast, Ganesha.
He got angry with him. After this her husband became seriously ill and whatever was in the house was added to his illness. When the moneylender’s daughter came to know of her fault, she was filled with remorse.
After praying for forgiveness from Ganesh ji. He again started fasting on Chaturthi according to law. He devoted his mind to taking the most blessings, while giving respect to everyone.
Thus seeing his deed with devotion, Ganesha became pleased with him. She gave life to her husband, after freeing him from illness, made him endowed with wealth.
