Sant Kabir was a poet and social reformer. Kabir Das was one of the greatest poets of the Bhakti poetry tradition of India. Any discussion of religion, language or culture in India will remain incomplete without the discussion of Kabir. Saint Kabir was born near Lahartara in Kashi in 1398 on Jyeshtha Purnima. The weaver was brought up in the family and became a disciple of Saint Ramanand. Kabir used to speak the truth regardless of any sect and customs. Kabir openly opposed the orthodoxy and fundamentalism prevailing in all Hindu-Muslim society. The voice of Kabir can be seen in his vocal sermons in his Sakhi, Ramani, Bijak, Bawan-Akshari, Ultabasi.
