Ganesh Stuti Overview
Stuti means ‘to praise’ and to describe the attributes of the deity and seek blessings. It is a Sanskrit word derived from the verb stu metal. It is easy to remember as it is short, composed in simple poetic verses and can be sung. Lord Ganapati is worshiped before starting any work and that is the reason why he is called Vighnaharta and auspicious. That is, by defeating the calamities that come on man’s work, he gives him auspiciousness. Special worship of Ganapati is done on Wednesday. However, worship of Ganapati ji is mandatory before every worship. That’s why even if you are not able to worship God regularly, always do two special things in worshiping Him.
Lord Ganesha is known as Vighnaharta and hence, his name is generally recited before performing any task or at the beginning of any event or happy occasion. Vakratunda Mahakaya is a very popular and commonly chanted hymn.

ॐ गजाननं भूंतागणाधि सेवितम्,
कपित्थजम्बू फलचारु भक्षणम्।
उमासुतम् शोक विनाश कारकम्,
नमामि विघ्नेश्वर पादपंकजम्॥
स्तुति
गाइये गनपति जगबंदन।
संकर-सुवन भवानी नंदन ॥ 1 ॥
गाइये गनपति जगबंदन।
सिद्धि-सदन, गज बदन, बिनायक।
कृपा-सिंधु, सुंदर सब-लायक ॥ 2 ॥
गाइये गनपति जगबंदन।
मोदक-प्रिय, मुद-मंगल-दाता।
बिद्या-बारिधि, बुद्धि बिधाता ॥ 3 ॥
गाइये गनपति जगबंदन।
मांगत तुलसिदास कर जोरे।
बसहिं रामसिय मानस मोरे ॥ 4 ॥
गाइये गनपति जगबंदन।
