Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the Government of India provides ration to all the states of the country under the Public Food Supply System. For which the state governments make ration cards of their citizens. Ration card is not only for us to take ration but this card is a very important government document for us. Which also provides us the proof of being a family member or citizen of a particular state or area. If for any reason we want to remove or deduct the name from the ration card, then we have to apply for it. Only after that we can remove the name of ourselves or any of our family members from the ration card.

Application for Deletion of name from Ration Card:
All the information asked in the application form must be filled correctly. In which the person will mainly have to give information about removing or deducting the name from the ration card.
For this, the applicant will also have to submit a certificate of deletion or deletion of name. Submit documents like marriage certificate on marriage, certificate of deceased person on death, affidavit on making ration card etc.
Process to remove name from ration card:
- We need it when we want to add a member’s name in another ration card. For example, when a girl gets married, she has to remove her name from the ration card of her parents.
- Or if the person has to get his ration card made in another state area due to some reason, then in this situation the name has to be removed from the previous ration card. So that we can easily enroll our name in any other ration card.
- All these necessary documents have to be attached with the application form. After this, you can submit your panchayat level area to the block level area or district food supply department.
- To remove the name from the ration card, the fee prescribed by the government will have to be deposited. After which, the name of the person will be struck off from the ration card list.
