Brahmacharini Mata Katha Overview
Mother Brahmacharini is worshiped on the second day of Navratri. Worshiping Mother Brahmacharini in Navratri gives the boon of penance from the mother. Another form of Navshakti of Maa Durga is that of Brahmacharini. Here Brahma means penance. This form of Maa Durga is going to give infinite fruits to the devotees and Siddhas. By worshiping them, there is an increase in tenacity, renunciation, detachment, virtue and restraint.
Brahmacharini Mata Katha:
The meaning of Brahmacharini is the charini of austerity, that is, the one who practices austerity. This form of the Goddess is fully lit and very grand. This goddess holds a rosary of chanting in her right hand and this kamandal is held in her left hand.
In the previous birth, this goddess was born in the Himalayas as a daughter and had done severe penance to get Lord Shankar as her husband by the teachings of Naradji. Due to this difficult penance, she was named as Tapascharini i.e. Brahmacharini. For a thousand years he spent only eating fruits and flowers and for a hundred years he lived only on the ground and lived on vegetables.
Keep a strict fast for a few days and suffer severe rain and sunshine under the open sky. For three thousand years, she ate broken bilva leaves and worshiped Lord Shiva. After this, he also stopped eating dried bilva leaves. For several thousand years, she practiced penance by being waterless and starving. She got the name Aparna because of leaving the leaves to eat.
Due to severe penance, the body of the goddess became completely emaciated. The deities, sages, siddhas, sages all described the penance of Brahmacharini as an unprecedented virtuous act, appreciated and said – O Goddess, till date no one has done such harsh penance. It was only possible from you. Your wish will be fulfilled and Lord Chandramauli Shiva will get you in the form of husband. Now leave the penance and return home. Soon your father is coming to call you.
मां ब्रह्मचारिणी माता की आरती
जय अंबे ब्रह्माचारिणी माता। जय चतुरानन प्रिय सुख दाता।
ब्रह्मा जी के मन भाती हो। ज्ञान सभी को सिखलाती हो।
ब्रह्मा मंत्र है जाप तुम्हारा। जिसको जपे सकल संसारा।
जय गायत्री वेद की माता। जो मन निस दिन तुम्हें ध्याता।
कमी कोई रहने न पाए। कोई भी दुख सहने न पाए।
उसकी विरति रहे ठिकाने। जो तेरी महिमा को जाने।
रुद्राक्ष की माला ले कर। जपे जो मंत्र श्रद्धा दे कर।
आलस छोड़ करे गुणगाना। मां तुम उसको सुख पहुंचाना।
ब्रह्माचारिणी तेरो नाम। पूर्ण करो सब मेरे काम।
भक्त तेरे चरणों का पुजारी। रखना लाज मेरी महतारी।
मां ब्रह्मचारिणी का मंत्र
1. या देवी सर्वभेतेषु मां ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः।।
दधाना कर मद्माभ्याम अक्षमाला कमण्डलू।
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा।।
2. ब्रह्मचारयितुम शीलम यस्या सा ब्रह्मचारिणी.
सच्चीदानन्द सुशीला च विश्वरूपा नमोस्तुते..
3. ओम देवी ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः॥
4. मां ब्रह्मचारिणी का स्रोत पाठ:
तपश्चारिणी त्वंहि तापत्रय निवारणीम्।
ब्रह्मरूपधरा ब्रह्मचारिणी प्रणमाम्यहम्॥
शंकरप्रिया त्वंहि भुक्ति-मुक्ति दायिनी।
शान्तिदा ज्ञानदा ब्रह्मचारिणीप्रणमाम्यहम्॥
5. मां ब्रह्मचारिणी का कवच
त्रिपुरा में हृदयं पातु ललाटे पातु शंकरभामिनी।
अर्पण सदापातु नेत्रो, अर्धरी च कपोलो॥
पंचदशी कण्ठे पातुमध्यदेशे पातुमहेश्वरी॥
षोडशी सदापातु नाभो गृहो च पादयो।
अंग प्रत्यंग सतत पातु ब्रह्मचारिणी।
Puja Vidhi:
- On this day, wake up in the morning and retire from daily activities and take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- After that sit on the seat. Worship Maa Brahmacharini. Offer them flowers, akshat, roli, sandalwood etc.
- Give the mother a bath with milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar. Enjoy the mother. Offer them pistachio sweets.
- Then offer betel, betel nut, cloves to them. Chant the mantras of the mother and do aarti.
- By worshiping the mother with a sincere heart, she acquires the power to restrain the person.
