Concerned Tahsildar issues possession certificate in rural areas and Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) in urban areas. Further, possession certificate is mandatory to secure a loan.

Steps to Apply for this scheme:
Step 1: It’s important to register the property you want to buy before applying for possession of it. You can register with the MeeSeva offices in your area and you need to get the sale deed from them as well.
Step 2: The applicant should submit the application in the prescribed format for possession certificate at MeeSeva Franchise. The applicant should provide the following details in the application form:
- Document details such as House number, Door Number, Address, Age, Extents
- Ration card and Aadhaar card number
- Informant details such as relation, mobile number and email ID
- Information related to house boundaries
Step 3: Submit all the required documents (refer to above-mentioned website) to your closest MeeSeva Franchise service operator. Your request for possession certificate will be forwarded online to the relevant authorities, e.g., Tahasildar for rural areas and RDO for urban areas
Step 4: MeeSeva centre service operator will issue a receipt with the possession application number. The applicant will receive the application number to the registered mail ID and mobile number. Keep it safe for future reference.
Step 5: The concerned authority, Tahsildar or RDO, will process the possession certificate request online.
Step 6: After downloading the verification and proceeding documents, a field-level investigation will take place. Afterwards, action for the Possession Certificate will be taken.
