Ahoi Ashtami Mata Overview

Worship of Ahoi Ashtami Mata is very popular among Hindu women. This fast is observed by mothers for the longevity of their babies. In this fast, after fasting for the whole day, Arghya is offered to the stars at night.

Reading Ahoi Ashtami fasting story is also very important in the worship of Ahoi Mata. It is said that any kind of worship and rituals are not considered complete without performing aarti. Therefore, at the end of the worship, it is very important to perform aarti of the respective deities. You must also do Ahoi Ashtami Mata Aarti after worshiping Ahoi Ashtami.

Ahoi Ashtami Vrat Pujan Vidhi:

• On this day, mothers or women should take a bath before sunrise and take a vow to observe a fast.
• For the worship of Ahoi Mata, a picture of Ahoi Mata should be made with ocher on the wall or paper.
• Worship the mother in the evening.
• For worship, place a chowki in front of the picture of Ahoi Mata and place an urn filled with water on it.
• Worship Ahoi Mata with Roli-rice.
• To offer Bhog to Ahoi Mata, women make sweet puas by mixing curd, flour, sugar or jaggery.
• At some places, flour pudding is also offered.
• Swastika is made on the Kalash from Roli.
• Seven vaccinations are given and then taking seven grains of wheat in their hands, women, mothers read and listen to Ahoi Vrat Katha.
• After listening to the worship and fasting story, offer Arghya to the stars with the water of the Kalash.
• After duly worshiping Ahoi Mata, Syahu Mala is worn.
• In the garland of Syahu there is a silver pearl and Ahoi Mata’s locket.
• After the puja women take out Bayana and take blessings by giving it to their mother-in-law or pandit.
• Parana is performed at the end of the puja.

Ahoi Mata Ki Aarti:

जय अहोई माता, मइया जय अहोई माता।

तुमको निसदिन ध्यावत हर विष्णु विधाता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

ब्रह्माणी, रुद्राणी, कमला तू ही है जगमाता।

सूर्य-चंद्रमा ध्यावत नारद ऋषि गाता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

माता रूप निरंजन सुख-सम्पत्ति दाता।

जो कोई तुमको ध्यावत नित मंगल पाता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

तू ही पाताल बसंती, तू ही है शुभदाता।

कर्म-प्रभाव प्रकाशक जगनिधि से त्राता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

जिस घर तुम्हरो वासा, ताहि घर गुण आता।

कर न सके सोई कर ले, मन नहीं घबराता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

तुम बिन सुख न होवे न कोई पुत्र पाता।

खान-पान का वैभव तुम बिन नहीं आता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

शुभ गुण सुंदर युक्ता, क्षीर निधि की जाता।

रतन चतुर्दश तुम बिन कोई नहीं पाता॥

जय अहोई माता॥

श्री अहोई मां की आरती जो कोई जन गाता।

उर उमंग अति उपजे पाप उतर जाता॥
